ITINERARY

Day 01

arrival in Cusco – transfer to sacred valley

Upon your arrival in Cusco, you will be greeted at the airport and transferred to your reserved hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, during which you can enjoy your first breathtaking views of the Andean landscape.
Once at your hotel, you can relax and enjoy the valley’s mild climate. To help you acclimate to the altitude, we recommend drinking a traditional coca tea and resting during the first few hours of your stay.

Day 02

Pisac and Archeological and Ollantaytambo (B)(L).

  Estimated time to start and end the tour: 9:00 a.m. to 16:00 hrs.

After a good rest, you will start your day at 8:30 a.m. when we pick you up from your hotel to begin our journey southeast of Urubamba. Our first stop will be the impressive Pisac Archaeological Site, located about an hour away. Built in the 15th century, this site sits atop a mountain overlooking the Vilcanota River, considered sacred by the Incas. Here, you can admire the magnificent agricultural terraces and the meticulously constructed palaces on the mountainside.
After exploring Pisac, we will descend to the picturesque colonial town of the same name, where you will have time to take a break, visit the local market, and shop for water or souvenirs. Then, we will return along the same route to Urubamba, where a delicious buffet lunch awaits you.
After lunch, we will continue with a 30-minute drive to the impressive Ollantaytambo Fortress, known as the "Living Inca City." This fascinating site, built during the expansion of the Inca Empire, will amaze you with its temples, water fountains, and chambers, all constructed from massive granite blocks.
After an wonderful day in the land of the Incas, we will take you back to your hotel in Urubamba, where you can unwind and rest peacefully.

Day 03

Machupicchu Full Day.

  Estimated time to start and end the tour: 5:00 a.m. to 18:00 hrs. o 20:00 hrs

This long-awaited day will begin with a 30-minute transfer from your hotel in the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the train station in Ollantaytambo. From there, you will board a train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes), a picturesque town nestled at the foot of the majestic Machu Picchu mountain, at 2,000 meters above sea level.
During the train journey, you will enjoy breathtaking landscapes: towering mountains, lush green valleys, and charming villages along the Urubamba River, making the trip an unforgettable experience.
Upon arrival in Machu Picchu Pueblo, our guide will be waiting to accompany you to the bus that will take you to the entrance of the Inca citadel. There, you will begin a guided tour, discovering the history and mysteries of this astonishing archaeological site. You will walk along scenic viewpoints, ancient trails, and sacred temples, each offering stunning panoramic views—perfect for capturing unforgettable memories.
After the visit, we will take the bus back down to Machu Picchu Pueblo, where you will have time to enjoy lunch and relax before beginning your return journey to Cusco by train and transport at the agreed time.

Day 4

Salt mines of Maras and Moray (B).

  Estimated time to start and end the tour:  9:00 a.m. to 14:00 hrs. 

After unforgettable days in the Sacred Valley, today we will return to Cusco, visiting two of the region’s most impressive attractions. Our first stop will be the Salt Mines in Maras, a collection of over 3,000 salt pools fed by water emerging from the mountain. Here, the prized "Pink Salt" is harvested, renowned for its health benefits and valued internationally.
A short distance away, we will visit the circular platforms of Moray which was a center of agricultural experimentation in the time of the Incas, set against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. These circular terraces, forming deep natural amphitheaters, were an Inca masterpiece used as an agricultural experimentation center.
On our way back to Cusco, we will stop in Chinchero, famous for its skilled weavers who continue to use ancient techniques and natural materials to create the finest textiles. We will visit a demonstration workshop before concluding the tour at your hotel in Cusco.

Day 05

Cusco City – Transfer back to the airport

  Estimated time to start and end the tour:  9:00 a.m. to 13:00 hrs.

On this last morning, we will dedicate our time to exploring downtown Cusco, visiting its main attractions.
We’ll begin at the Main Square, where we’ll visit the Cusco Cathedral, a colonial masterpiece that houses impressive paintings from the Cusco School of the 17th and 18th centuries, along with altarpieces and chapels adorned with gold and silver.

Just two blocks away, we’ll arrive at Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, the most sacred and important site of the Inca Empire, featuring some of the finest stonework ever built by the Incas.
To conclude our tour, we’ll visit the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, a monumental structure with massive limestone walls that have stood the test of time.
Without a doubt, this will be the perfect way to say farewell to Cusco.

After the tour, you’ll have time for lunch before we transfer you to the airport at the scheduled time.
For this day, we suggest taking your return flight in the afternoon or evening, so you can make the most of your last morning in Cusco.

Optional Hikes in Machu Picchu

Huayna Picchu Mountain (Young Mountain): Located north of the citadel at 2,693 meters above sea level, its access starts from the Inca city itself. The hike is moderate, covering approximately 300 meters along a steep path with stone steps. Along the way, you’ll see agricultural terraces and ancient constructions perfectly integrated into the mountain.
From the summit, you’ll have a privileged and complete view of the entire Inca city. For this reason, it is believed to have had religious, astronomical, and strategic functions.
There are two entry times, 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM, each with limited availability, requiring advance reservations. The schedule must align with your visit to Machu Picchu itself.

Machu Picchu Mountain ("Old Mountain") – 3,082 m (10,111 ft)
Located south of the Machu Picchu citadel, this mountain offers a wider but more gradual trail, making it a less steep but longer hike compared to Huayna Picchu. The hike requires good physical condition, as you will ascend 600 meters (1,970 ft) along a combination of gentle slopes and stone steps.

From the summit, you will have an impressive 360° view, not only of Machu Picchu but also of the Salkantay mountain range and sections of the Inca Trail.
